Giftedness as a Special Need student s who are gifted and talented are acknowledged as having special learning needs and these need to be explored thoroughly through different avenues Acceleration used for gifted and talented students to be completing work at an above level or off level then their peer age group Profiling students Knowing students, especially the gifted and talented students and knowing where their strengths, weaknesses, interests and goals lie.

Confusions or Contradictions
Acceleration which form of acceleration is best for each studentare all gifted and talented students being grouped together or are they being treated as separate individuals with individual needs Resources and Support Are the learning managers prepared for creating assessments for gifted and talented students? Is their whole school support and scaffolding? Authentic Assessment are authentic assessments being used to engage and extend gifted and talented students?

Resolution:
Suggestions that use research, guidelines and frameworks to help create understanding for how learning managers can create authentic assessment tasks that will challenge and extend students that identify as gifted and talented.
