1. What kind of Disability are you dealing with? - My child suffers from a severe speech delay. 2. What are your Hobbies & dreams in life?

- My goals for Ryder are to get over his speech delay and to carry on with a normal life, without a differential in treatment and no one exploiting the fact he is unable to speak clearly. 3. How does your disability affect you on a daily basis?

- Ryders disability affects his daily life by his difficulty communicating with others, especially his primary needs or being able to tell when someone has hurt him. 4. Do you feel that society treats you differently because of your disability? - I do feel as though society treats Ryder different due to his disability; he gets talked to differently as if he does not comprehend simple instructions and he does. 5. Do you think that society has the perception that people with disabilities are at a disadvantage in life or are not able to achieve the same tasks or goals? - I definitely feel as though society perceives people with disabilities are at a disadvantage, although in my sons case, he will get over this speech delay hurdle. 6. . Did your disability by birth or accident? Explain. - I am unsure as to how the speech delay occurred. I do know that it is in his paternal genetics to have a speech delay. However, Ryder did reach all of his developmental achievements the same as any other baby, speech just was not one of which.
I was somewhat nervous about asking the question to Ms. Kia Price which is the mother of Ryder Price. Hes a 4 year old who suffered speech delay as you see in the interview. He was very active and funny when I met him. Couldnt really understand what he was saying, but some words I could. What I learned was that he is placed in one Special Ed Class at his school he attends, and some regular classes as well.
