use letter cards, lettered bean bags, picture/word letter Dd cards, etc. *introduce the color Brown when looking over picture/word letter Dd cards >read Dinosaurs Halloween: -talk about how the word dinosaur starts with Dd -color of each dinosaur (include brown) -big versus little -show other books for pictures, Dinosaurs/The Biggest Dinosaurs >Group 1 & 2: *Dinosaur -cut out dinosaur, partial (hand over hand) -draw face -glue spikes -number the spikes >>Group 3: -draw face -glue spikes -number the spikes (all hand over hand) >Group 1 & 2: *Dinosaur Picture -trace letter Dd -color dinosaur picture -Dd handwriting worksheet (hand over hand if needed) **A-Z file folders/manipulative activities (if extra time) >>Group 3: -trace letter Dd -color dinosaur picture (all hand over hand) Activities work on fine motor skills, counting up to five, and lettersound recognition.
