While being a student at Marquette University, I have been able to take a few law courses and become a part of the pre-law society, which has led me to develop a great interest in the justice system. Therefore, I was thrilled to hear about the Family Law Help Desk internship available at Milwaukee Justice Center. I am very interested in this internship because after reviewing the organization and what it has to offer I feel this position will benefit me in many different ways and I believe I will strongly benefit the organization as well. Being a Writing Intensive English Major at Marquette University has allowed me to develop strong verbal and written communication skills. Therefore I know that this opportunity of working with Family Law legal forms and helping those who need any assistance would suit me very well. In addition, my former experience with a criminology course and an American politics course has heightened my awareness and interest in pursuing a law career. Regarding the Help Desk internship, my past job as a lifeguard for many years has taught me a great deal about helping others, no matter the circumstances. In addition, it has allowed me to heighten my experience with communicating and assisting a variety of different people. From this past experience, I have gained great communication skills, which would assist me in maximizing my benefit to your organization. I am a hard worker and always up for a new challenge. Overall, I am very interested in Laws studies and this internship will help me gain valuable experience in the field, while at the same time, doing my best to benefit your organization.
