Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower Standard: Goal: I can participate in learning activities using the terms Mayflower, Plymouth Rock and colonies with the use of pictures. Objectives: Students will understand the significance of the Mayflower, Plymouth Rock, and colonies. Procedures: Fall friends sheet will be introduced to students about Mayflower and associated terminology. Students will color the Mayflower sailing to Plymouth. Define Plymouth Rock and its significance. Then make Plymouth Rock (1620). Students will finish by constructing a Mayflower hat. Pre-Assessment: N/A Post-Assessment: Students will make a hat that looks like the Mayflower. Materials: Mayflower cutout Promethean board Rocks and permanent marker Modifications/Accommodations: Positive reinforcements will be used throughout (iPad, lemonade, stickers, etc.). Extension: Lesson will lend itself to the Thanksgiving thematic lesson.
