RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Software Windows 7 Statement

March 21, 2011

RSLogix 5000 software versions 18 or earlier have not been qualified on Windows 7 but are known to operate correctly. Versions 12 and earlier will not function on Windows 7. The following Windows 7 configuration settings are suggested to help ensure proper operation of RSLogix 5000. These apply to both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 7.

The following minimum companion software versions must be installed. These are available on the original V19 (or later) media. Installing V19 before attempting to run older versions of RSLogix 5000 in Windows 7 will help assure the updated companion software is properly installed. Installing from pre-V19 media may not install the required versions.

Additional Considerations for Windows 7

Running RSLogix 5000 software via Remote Desktop is not supported. WinHelp is not included on Windows Vista or Windows 7 and must be installed separately for RSLogix 5000 versions to properly display help. WinHelp can be downloaded directly from the Microsoft support site. See Knowledgebase article AID 64745 RSLogix 5000 HELP error Failed to launch Help. No specific testing has been done running RSLogix 5000 in Windows 7 XP mode, although RSLogix 5000 is shown to function correctly.
