    Blacksburg Police investigate strong-armed robbery at a jewelry store


    Blacksburg, Virginia, December 13, 2013 On December 12th, at 3:00 pm, Blacksburg Police responded to the 1400 block of S. Main Street in reference to a robbery from a jewelry store. The investigation revealed a male subject had entered the business and was inquiring about purchasing a piece of jewelry. When a store employee was showing the subject some merchandise, the suspect grabbed the merchandise and fled the store on foot. The suspect has been described as follows: White male, at least 6 feet tall, wearing faded blue jeans, faded orange/red ball cap, brown work boots, appeared to be in his late twenties or early thirties, full beard that was red in color, tattoo of numbers on the back of his hand, and a partially amputated thumb (same hand with tattoo). The incident continues to be investigate and Blacksburg Police request that anyone with information please contact the Department at (540) 961-1150.
