A Picture of My Family

Benchmark: Individuality Skill: Knowing my part in the family

I was born into this world as the eighth child in my family of nine. My parents, Kristi and Dr. teven !ohnson, have been married for twenty"si# years. hortly after marriage, my parents began having children$ they did not stop for nine and a half years. In this very short part of their lives, they produced nine children. I have five brothers% Andrew !ames, twenty"four$ !acob, twenty"three$ !oshua, twenty"two$ &unter, twenty$ and 'onnor, fifteen. I also have three sisters$ (roo)e, twenty"five$ (randi, twenty"one$ and !aymi, eighteen. Family has always been a huge part of my life. *ight around the age of eight I began learning my part in the family$ I was always considered the second baby. For this reason, I always had the easiest chores, was rarely in trouble for stupid things I may have done, and yes, I was blamed for almost everything. Any time something was bro)en or destroyed it was always my fault or 'onnor+s fault. As the two youngest )ids, life began changing ,uic)ly year after year. -ime flew and before I )new it, each year another sibling of mine graduated and moved away. I began receiving larger roles in the family. .hen I turned si#teen, everything changed. I had my license now and constantly ran errands for my mother$ anything from dropping off my siblings at friends to getting groceries for the house was fair game. -hen another year rolled around and 'onnor and I were the only )ids left at home$ this is where I currently stand in my family. -hroughout the years, my part in the family changed dramatically$ it was my /ob to understand it and ad/ust accordingly. As a young adult and at any time in one+s life, family is very important. My family has always been there for me and I will always be there from them. -hough time passes and we all begin to spread out over the years, my family remains close$ for this reason, when we all reunite on holidays, the greatest times of my life occur. As an optometrist, my family will still be important to me. My father and oldest brother Andrew are both optometrists. Any time I may need assistance during my career in the future, I )now I will be able to count on them for help.
