Wilson Exiting the Field Experience When I first as going into the field in a school I ne!er "een to I had #uite a fe #uestions. I as curious a"out the school en!ironment$ the teachers$ students$ and the staff mem"ers. I anted to %no ho the students ere going to "e in the classroom I as placed in$ ho they ill "eha!e. I ne!er o"ser!ed a first grade class so I as excited to "e place in that grade. I learned so much from the teachers as ell as the students. I as exposed to t o teachers in one classroom. &he composition of the classroom as interesting in itself. &here ere '5 students$ ( ith IE)s and * "ilingual. &he rest of the class as either a!erage or "elo a!erage. &here as also a student teacher in our class hich as interesting to see hat she does and ho she teaches the class. +nly for the fact that one day I,ll "e student teaching so it as good experience seeing it in person. &he teachers ere onderful and !ery effecti!e teachers. &hey allo ed for my partner and I to interact ith the students and help them ith different things. &he students ere also !ery elcoming and allo ed us to help them. -sually hen there,s someone a child is not familiar ith they allo for them to help "ut the students ere excited hene!er e ent to help them or interact ith them. &he teachers and student teacher ere also %ind enough to tal% to us and let us as% them #uestion either a"out hat the students ere doing or anything pertaining to standards and curriculum. E!eryone as !ery helpful and in!iting. I sa many different things I learned in different education classes in the classroom from running records to mini lessons on

digraphs. I also as gi!en the opportunity to or% one on one ith a child ho had a learning disa"ility as ell as a "ilingual child. I "enefitted a lot from this field experience.
