DMT is the idea of the mind and body being inseparable. A change in movement affects its functioning and also reflects personality. The body is talking (body language), expressing its mind and itself.

Introduced DTM to the United States Originally a dancer, choreographer, and performer

Marian started to teach individuals in many of whom were people with psychiatric illness. Her methods began to attract others which lead to becoming a serious subject to hospitals/facilities.

Societies around the world have used dance therapy since the beginning of time to express feelings, promote fertility, and to create personal well-being.

Marian Chace became the first government paid dance therapist. She began to teach at psychiatric hospitals which led her to become president of the American Dance Therapy Association. Marian worked with patients at Chestnut Lodge, a psychiatric hospital, until the day she died at age 74.

You dont need to have any physical/mental conditions to participate in dance movement therapy. Its open to anyone and can be taken at clinics, hospitals, and schools. -UCLA Hospital -Childrens Hospital
