The practice of somatic movement awakens the archetypal energy throughout the different parts
of the body, which allows us to tap into our individual, collective and more-than-human wisdom.
Somatic movement, mythology, archetypal psychology, and expressive arts support us in
connecting our life story with a grand timeless narrative. Marialuisa Diaz de Leon Zuloaga will
help us see our own life as a unique and necessary expression of the collective cosmology,
revealing the meaning of our existence.
How myths are embodied ritual narratives, and how somatic movement helps to free
individual and collective archetypes
How somatic movement guides us to descend into the body, supporting us to experience
who we are and our purpose in life
Personal meaning through embodying the feminine principle, which encompasses the
cycles of birth, death, and rebirth

Dr. Martha Eddy, Elisabeth Osgood-Campbell, and Ray Schwartz discuss their learning
processes about decolonial somatic approaches, as articulated by Amber McZeal, Resmaa
Menakem, and others. As racialized white somatic practitioners, they begin to investigate how
cultural frameworks of coloniality impact the field of somatics, and consider ways in which these
mindsets and power structures can be transformed within individual and organizational somatic
movement practices.

Mystical teachings and science tell us that the universe is inside us. The micro (the individual
you) mirrors the macro (the entire greater universe) and every part of the universe contains the
whole. So, in essence, whatever you seek can be found within. But does this mean within the
physical body? Banafsheh Sayyad will share with you how the deeper you go into your
physicality as awareness, the more your physicality begins to merge into the greater field of
consciousness. We are more energy than matter.
Banafsheh Sayyad
Banafsheh invites the dancer within to remember, reclaim, and resource the innate healing
intelligence spiraling in us and all around us. Her easeful instruction and welcoming spirit
empowers students to feel a true sense of belonging in their bodies. Students experience
more passion in their lives, by integrating wisdom teachings from throughout the ages.
She is among the few virtuosos of authentic Persian dance in the world, and a pioneer in creating
a liberated feminine expression in the Sufi dance genre, previously performed only by men. Her
modality, Dance of Oneness®, is a spiritual path and a science of embodiment. It is a fusion of
three dimensions, including healing, wisdom teachings, and the rigorous technique and self-
expression of the art of dance.
Banafsheh has a masters degree in dance and choreography from UCLA, and a masters degree in
Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her award-winning work has been presented throughout North
America, Europe, and Australia. Her dance film, In the Fire of Grace, with Andrew Harvey,
traces Rumi’s journey of the soul in dance.

Resolving Sexual Trauma
Broadcast on June 09, 2022
With Heike Hudson & Jonathan Hudson
Hosted by Brian Siddhartha Ingle
According to Heike Hudson and Jonathan Hudson, everyone is affected by sexual trauma to
some degree, and it affects our core being, our lives, our relationships, and the ability to fully
express ourselves authentically. We will explore how and where sexual trauma is stored in the
body, and revolutionary ways of using somatic and pleasure-based tools to resolve it.
Heike Hudson
Heike Hudson is a doctor of naturopathy, somatic sexologist, and one of San Diego’s
preeminent somatic healers. She's also a relationship/intimacy coach, and together with her
husband Jonathan, co-founder of Sextraordinaryliving, and co-creator of the Pleasure on
Purpose Healing System.
Heike's work is dedicated to those who are ready to release guilt, shame, and trauma around their
bodies and sexuality, to become confident, empowered, and living their highest soulful
expression.
Both naturopathic doctor and healer, Heike has understood for decades what the medical
community is only now cluing into — that in order to clear the past that influences our present
and future, we can't just talk and use spiritual practices, but have to actually address and clear the
cellular memory to release trauma and old wounds in order to live a soulful and sovereign life.

This is an arrival space to slow down and remember our personal connection with the earth. In
this session, Brooke Smiley shares somatic resources to explore our interrelationship with our
internal systems and the minerals, elements, and relatives around us, while orienting towards
comfort and choice in the body. The intention is to individually and collectively experience
insight into our body’s "why" by remembering our original passion for what we do, reflecting on
our personal practice of sustainability.

earth sculpture, and dance performance, her work engages a deepening of awareness in the body,

sustainable architecture, and trauma-informed Indigenous and environmental justice, Brooke
invites collaborative spaces of remembering and belonging through workshops, community
performance, film, installation, and exhibitions. Her choreographic and earth works are
