Enterprise Software for Emerging Microserver Market

2013 Suvola Corporation

Integrated circuits continued to shrink in size to the point where its now possible to put entire computers (not just processors) on a single chip Consequently, low-cost microservers can be built with many more processors and radically reduced HVAC, power and space requirements This new system-on-a-chip (SoC) technology and the microservers built around them will revolutionize enterprise computing once again

Workloads that currently require entire racks of equipment can be run on microservers with onetenth the HVAC, power and space requirements Total Costs of Ownership (TCO) can be cut in half, while increasing overall systems performance and reliability

Currently available microservers are not programcompatible with legacy servers (e.g., Intel x86) Legacy software must be modified to address differences and take advantage of microservers In the absence of large numbers of installed microservers, there is no incentive for independent software vendors to develop software for them This has created a software product gap the opportunity that Suvola will exploit

Provide application-specific software that bridges the gap between microserver hardware vendors and the end-users need for applications Provide products that can be delivered via existing distribution channels as out-of-the-box appliances optimized for microserver hardware Break open the microserver market by providing the necessary last mile of application-specific software and end-user support

Establish Suvola as the leading provider of enterprise software for the emerging microserver market Microservers over traditional x86-based systems
Reduce total cost of ownership by half Improve cost-performance by at least four times Significantly reduced power consumption Vastly reduced space and environment requirements Higher reliability

Difficult to port and optimize software from x86 No available enterprise software specifically designed for microservers available today

Scarcity of technology expertise makes integrated products (appliances) attractive to the market Suvola price point is low enough to expand the available market and tap pent-up demand for more-affordable systems Add-on revenue potential is sufficient to attract distributors, system integrators, value-added resellers and consultants Future microserver technology and Suvola software advances will sustain competitive advantages and build customer loyalty
