Lynn Nam 10-02-13 6th hour Eunice`s Birthday Party I thought this day would never end.

I looked at the clock. It`s 11:40. I looked again. 11:40 and 3 seconds. The needles on the clock seemed like they were crawling. Oh, man! I thought. Move needles, move! I couldn`t concentrate during class. I want to go there right now! I kept looking the clock. It seemed like forever! After 20 minutes, the bell rang. I m free! I thought. Finally, I can leave this school, and go to Eunice`s B-day party! I wasn`t the type of a student who hates school, but that day, I kind of was. I had my lunch without tasting it. After I finished my lunch, I waited and waited. To me, time was slower than a snail that day. Finally, my classroom door opened and my mom came in. I immediately grabbed my stuffs and backpack, said hi to my mom, and said bye to my teacher and friends, and rushed to the door. I grabbed my mom`s hand and ran to my dad`s car. And there was my dad and Young-woo, my brother. I was happy to see them. Let`s go! I said, really loudly. And we left the school. Our car wore a bright cloth, made by the sun. Trees and buildings ran by our car, as they were racing. I listened to beautiful classical music while I was looking outside and thought about my best friends, who live in Dae-jeon. We were headed to E-mart, the Wal-Mart of Korea, where Eunice`s B-day party will be held (In Korea, there are lots and lots of luxury restaurant in marts, so people can eat, enjoy, and hold birthday parties). The weather outside, which is beautiful, reminded me of the times we hung out and went to camps, especially the

time we went to the creek nearby my house in Dae-jeon. We had a really fun time. The memory made me smile. As I thought about my other memories with BFFs, I fell asleep. I opened my eyes with a big surprise. What a beautiful place! And then I realized that we were in Dae-jeon. Trees did ballet while the warm breeze hugged them, wind whistled a beautiful song, and green grasses danced. I felt like I was watching a movie of nature. This is the place I loved and love! I thought. Beautiful scenery wasn`t the only reason I love Dae -jeon. It reminded me of my childhood, especially with my BFFs. I remembered that Eva, Claire, Eunice, and I were BFFs, since we were in 1st grade, or 2nd grade. I thought about the times we spent together. The fact that I`m going to meet my BFFs made me happy. As I finished my thought, my dad called, Okay everyone, we`re here! We walked into E-mart. Lights shimmered over me. The smell of delish goodies and fresh-cut flowers filled my nose and the gorgeous sight of groceries filled my eyes, but I didn`t care about them. I found myself following my mom, as if I was the ghost, and then realized, that I`m about to meet my BFFs who I really missed. I took a deep breath and stepped forward to open the door. My hands, which are holding a present for Eunice, balled into fists and started to sweat. And finally, I reached out my hand to open the door. I entered the door and froze for a second. But, when I saw Eunice, I unfroze, and managed a smile. I greeted other people, who are my friends` moms. Eunice and Eva were there, but Claire wasn`t. We sang Happy Birthday song and Eunice blew the candles, while other people were clapping and saying Happy B-day Eunice! As we were waiting, we chatted and had a tremendous dinner. Brown fried chicken on a tray, Fried fish with tangy sauce and

ranch, different varieties of pizza with white, greasy cheese on the top, Californian rice that has some kind of weird spices and yellowish cheese on it, steaming hot and creamy chicken soup with bread crumbs, sweet New York cheese cake, chocolate tiramisu, different kinds of puddings, various kinds of ice cream and slush... I was more than satisfied. After several minutes, Claire came and joined us. Eunice opened the presents that we gave her. She gave us a lot of Thank you s. I don`t remember what the present was, but I thought my present was too small, but she loved it. We finished our dinner, and went out of the restaurant to look around the mart. We looked around some bakeries, grocery stores, and other stores in E-mart. After a while, as we were looking around a bakery, suddenly, a cute, little something caught Eva and my eyes. It was a small cheese cake. Eva got some money from her mom, and bought it, because we knew Eunice would love it. We brought it to Eunice, and she loved it, as Eva and I predicted. Eunice, Eva, Claire, and I shared the cake. It was rich and creamy. We had a great time, chatting, laughing, and giggling about our schools and fun times we spent together, when we were young. We laughed so hard, that our stomach hurt. I wished that the time would stop, so we can enjoy this moment forever. But the time raced like a cheetah; unlike it did in the morning. We had to say good-bye. I hated to do that, but I had no choice, because I had to go to school tomorrow. We took a picture of all moms and friends. And then, we headed to our homes, half-crying. As I think of this memory, I realize that friends decorate each others` life with memories, just like Eunice, Eva, Claire, and me. Also, I learned that you should be grateful to your friends, because every

single second you spend with your friends, is a tiny little part of your precious and wonderful memories they give you, and will remain in your mind forever.
