Abstract: Rough Draft How does temperature affect the rate at which ultraviolet (UV) beads lose their

color when exposed to the sun? If the temperature of the water is 60 degrees Celsius then the UV beads will lose their color at the slowest rate because it will slow down the speed of the reaction in which UV beads lose their color. This experimental procedure tested how temperature would affect the rate at which the UV beads lost their color, data collected found the hypothesis to be incorrect and that colder water slowed down the speed of reaction, not hot water. UV beads placed in colder temperatures of water, 0 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius, kept their color for far longer than UV beads placed in warmer water, 40 and 60 degrees Celsius. The UV beads lost their color in an average of about 2,195 seconds in cold water compared to an average of about 4 seconds in warm water. Overall when placed in colder temperatures of water UV beads chemical reaction slows down greatly while in warm water increases greatly.
