Book Report due by Oct. 26th

1) Create a fashionable/trendy magazine based on your novel similar to

the format in a news magazine. Use art work and color. Hand work is
encouraged.

2) Include all these elements:

a. **Creative Cover (include book title, author and artwork.)
b. **Table of Contents
c. ** Identify one type of conflict from the rising action and
describe the conflict; identify and describe the main characters
involved in the conflict you describe.
d. **A brief 75 – 100 word paragraph identifying the title,
author’s name, setting, and point of view and include a 2-3
sentence summary of the plot. Add one sentence that tells an
interesting or unusual fact.

3) Now pick just three (3) of these elements to include:

e. A humor piece, such as a cartoon or some jokes (must be
related to the book somehow.)
f. Art work that pertains to the book. This may be a collage, a
picture of a character, a picture showing action, etc.
g. Write a letter pretending you are one of the characters in the
book and explain your conflict (struggle).
h. Pretending you are the advice-person, write in response to the
character’s struggle and offer solutions.
i. Want ads or job openings based on the plot of your novel.
j. Write a magazine/newspaper type article about the story plot as
though it happened today.
k. Two advertisements for real or invented products related to the
book.
l. Create a crossword puzzle of story elements. Explain why you
chose the words you did.
 m. Write the essence of the story in a poem.
n. Write an imaginary seven-day journal that one of the main
characters may have written.
o. Suppose you could interview the book’s author. Write five
questions you would ask the author and give five responses you
would expect the author to answer.
p. List five ways you could have improved the story.

Go wild! Make this assignment fun and fun to read. Be proud of your
results. SPELLING and NEATNESS COUNT! All these elements must be
present with creativity and careful production for all 100 points possible on
the assignment.
