Chapter 1 - Workshop Safety General Safety Rules 1) Tidy up your hair. 2) Never work alone. 3) Remove personal accessories 4) Work in good health condition. 5) Never leave a chuck key in a chuck. 6) Secure your work piece and cutting tools 7) Never leave your machine running unattended. 8) Keep a good distance of your hand from your workpiece 9) Wear proper clothing (no loose clothing) and protective gear. 10) Do not operate machine if you are not familiar with it. Ask help from technician or staff. Cleaning - Part of safe operation 1) Turn off the machine. 2) Unmount cutting tool. 3) Put away supporting tools. 4) Clean away chips (including sweep floor) and excess oil. 5) Put a light coat of way oil. 6) Report missing or broken tools. Treating Hazards in the Workplace 1) Reduce danger through design. 2) Apply safeguarding technology. 3) Use warning signs and labels. 4) Train and instruct the worker. 5) Prescribe personal protective equipment (PPE). - Safety Goggles, Welding Masks, Ear Plugs, Disposable Masks, Welding Gloves, etc.
