Musicians and Dancers

 Musicians and Dancers performed at festivals, religious festivals,

and royal occasions, such as the crowning of a King.

 Music and Dance were very popular in ancient Egypt.

 Were hired to entertain guests

Types of Instruments

 String, wind, and percussion were the three groups of instruments

 Musicians memorize how to play music by listening to it, instead of reading it

 Flutes were blown from side, not top

 Double flute was used more for obeying other than in music assembles

How They Performed

 In groups

 Could be hired for public or private occasions

 Started training when young

 Musicians, dancers, acrobats, magicians and storytellers were


supported by royal court
