Add a hair light to lift your subject In most studios lighting set-up only one part of a models is emphasised.

A more three dimensional effect can be achieved by adding an extra light at the back of the set. The light needs to be behind the model with all other lights switched off.

The Tri-flector technique The tri-flector is three mini reflectors in one unit, which is placed underneath the model or subject. Each of the reflectors moves separately to remove shadows from around the subject.

Light the background Backgrounds are not usually included when using lighting techniques. Including can give your picture real depth.

Put the light near to the ground and fix a snoot or honeycomb to make the light go in one direction. The light needs to point at the background and needs to be behind the subject in the middle of subjects face.
