Chicken Que
1. Choose a HOMEMADE basting and barbecue sauce recipe.
2. NO store bought barbecue sauce can be used in the recipe. Your goal is to use
spices with other ingredients to make a tasty, one-of-a-kind recipe.
3. Practice cooking your chicken in sauces. Make sure your chicken is well done.
4. For the local contest, you may cook your chicken on a grill, or using a cook-top or
oven.
5. Bring in 2 fully cooked chicken pieces in the sauce (breast, wing, leg, or thigh)
wrapped in plastic or in an air-tight container.
6. Keep chicken cold until the meeting. You can heat it before the judging begins.
7. Put a copy of your sauce recipe beside the chicken when you turn it in to be
judged.
8. 1st and 2nd place winners are eligible for the County Contest. At the County
Contest, you will cook chicken on a charcoal grill.
9. You may use your own recipe or one of the samples in your packet.

EXPRESS YOURSELF
1. Choose a clean/wholesome poem, quotation, or speech that you like.
2. Practice reading it out loud until you can say it using good expression and
speaking loudly.
3. Be prepared to say your piece, without reading it, at the club meeting. (Sept. 23rd)
4. You will be judged on: Expression, clearness of your words, volume, and
appropriateness of your choice.
5. The piece chosen needs to be no longer than one minute in length.

FARM CITY POSTER


1. Posters must relate to the theme: FARMERS CARE-FOR ANIMALS AND YOU
2. The theme must be on the poster, and spelled correctly. No brand names or
copyrighted cartoon characters.
3. Drawing should show all areas of the farm.
4. The poster MUST be 14” x 22”. The TITLE and DRAWINGS must be
HORIZONAL.
5. No 3D posters will be eligible.
6. Name, grade, age, home phone, school name, and teacher’s name should be on the
back of the poster.
7. This poster should pertain to the many ways farms and cities partner together.
8. Criteria for judging includes: originality, neatness, overall appearance, and
following instructions.
