Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Guided with this quotation, I could say that we are entitled of our own appreciation and interpretation of art. As for this painting that generally looked like a visualization of a suicide case, I would interpret this in way that I understand it not in the way others will commonly perceived it. For me, this painting shows a change of decision in a very critical time. Maybe, the person in it originally planned to kill himself without the intention of letting it be known by anyone. As we can see in the picture, the man has already stabbed himself before he decided to write a letter, which could be for his loved ones to let them be informed that he is the one who killed himself and nobody else, for he was holding the pen the time he breath his last. In a common situation, suicide letter would be written first before a person would impede his life. Meaning to say, though we are in the peak of a situation wherein we are already suffering from great pains, we could and should also still be considerate of others and as well as their feelings. Furthermore, the word moral has been underlined in the letter he is holding emphasizing that even though he commits suicide, hes still concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior showing that this man is still in his sanity when he decided to put an end to his life.
