Two Hour Parking Must Come To An End

We the people of the town of the Westfield are thoroughly outraged at the dilemma
that stands in between our tires and the asphalt of the following streets: Trinity Place,
Dorian Road, Rahway Avenue and surrounding areas.
It is our right as citizens of these United States of America to leave our cars on the
side of roads when we are no longer using them, and the town of Westfield is ruthlessly
depriving us of this god given right.
The streets encompassing the area of and around Westfield High School are
restricted by many codes and regulations, one of those being an 120 minute limit for any
parking space in this enclosed area.
These irresponsible and absurd regulations result in countless potentially harmful
effects on the youth of this town.
The town of Westfield fails to provide buses for the majority of the town, so for a
large percentage of the student body, driving is the only feasible way to get to school and
get an education. Yet they limit the parking to just two hours, when the school day lasts
seven hours and fifteen minutes, thus there math is illogical.
It takes the average student six minutes and twenty three seconds to sign out, exit
the school, unlock their car, move it forward ten feet to a new spot, and then returning back
to school. That results in an average of one thousand five hundred and thirty two seconds
lost each day per student, thats two hundred and seventy five thousand and seven hundred
and sixty second lost per student per school year because of the towns negligence in
creating this law, all time that could have been spend in school studying and gaining
knowledge.
Put a stop to this madness by signing the below petition, and show the town of
Westfield that its irrational ways must come to an end.
