David Coombs, Attorney for WikiLeaks Defendant Bradley Manning, to speak at RWU Law School
What: Guest speaker David Coombs David Coombs, lead defense counsel for Bradley Manning, soldier convicted in the largest leak of documents in the U.S. history will sit down with Emily Sack, RWU Law Professor. September 25, 2013 at 12pm RWU School of Law, Room 283 1 Old Ferry Road Bristol, RI 02809 (Registration required for parking) Emily Sack, RWU Law Professor David Coombs, Military Defense Attorney David Coombs was the lead defense attorney for Bradley Manning, the soldier sentenced to 35 years in prison for providing over 700,000 classified documents to Wikileaks. Coombs won a prize for his trail for avoiding a conviction on the charge that Manning was facing of assisting the enemy. Coombs continues to represent Manning in regards to the gender issues and a presidential pardon of the case filed on September 3, 2013.

Background: David Coombs has been practicing criminal law for over 15 years and now represents soldiers worldwide. He began his career as a prosecutor and has tried over 120 court-martial convictions, representing soldiers facing unjust administrative actions. Coombs was an adjunct professor at RWU Law in 2009 and 2010. Roger Williams Law School is the only law school in Rhode Island and has existed for two decades.
