1 The poem consists of four stanzas. The last stanza is a couplet. 2 In Stanza 1, the persona talks about fighting in the war for our nation's independence. 3 It was a huge sacrifice on his part, fighting in that war. e was badl! wounded and became crippled for the rest of his life. " #ow, he is crushed in bod! and energ! and feels somewhat helpless that he cannot do an!thing though he is disturbed b! the mi of deceit he sees around him. The deceit or corruption is increasing rapidl!. $ The persona appeals to the !ounger generation who are sons of our ancestor, to stand up for their freedom, be united to fight for %ustice. & e ends the poem b! repeating that he has no more strength, energ! or 'oice to fight. It is now up to the !oung people of toda! to stand up for their rights and freedom.
