Dear Member of Parliament,

I am writing you as my Member of Parliament to ask for your support for Bill C-304, an
Act to ensure secure, adequate, accessible and affordable housing for Canadians.

With 3 million Canadians living in housing insecurity and thousands more homeless,
Canada has fallen dangerously behind in its commitment and investment in affordable
housing for all its citizens.

Bill C-304 calls on all levels of government to work together for a national housing
strategy that will address homelessness, invest in not-for-profit housing, and meet the
housing needs of vulnerable and marginalized populations. Canada has the capacity
and the will to ensure that every Canadian has access to secure, adequate, accessible
and affordable housing.

Investment in housing is an investment in the economy, jobs and the health and well-
being of our communities. In the best of economic times, the federal government must
ensure its citizens’ basic needs, like safe, affordable housing, are met. In poor economic
times like these, we must intensify our efforts, so that no one is, literally, left out in the
cold.

I urge you to vote yes on Bill C-304.I look forward to hearing from you on this important
