These concerns eventually make their way to politicians that need support from these groups, so they mold their policies to conform to the concerns of the people. These concerns usually follow whatever is politically hot at the time, such as abortions or healthcare. These hot issues are what usually stir up the most public interest, and the people decide which side to take.
