Comments (Please elaborate on strengths/areas for growth): Amanda submitted a lesson plan to me for Grade 1 Science. The topic is Trees, The Environment and Us. Amanda included 4 lesson expectations, a learning skill and a learning goal in her lesson plan. She described the learners' prior knowledge and the accommodations she would make for students with special needs. Amanda planned to assess the students' progress through a checklist and a mark for their written work. She matched the assessment with the expectations. Amanda introduced the lesson with a read aloud of the picture book The Great Kapok Tree. She planned her teaching strategies for the lesson. Amanda designed an effective application for the students to complete. She completed a detailed reflection for her lesson and indicated the changes she would make in order to improve student learning.

General Comments: Amanda submitted an excellent lesson plan in Science on Trees, the Environment and Us for students in Grade 1.
