Sad Losses Whats App

Mark Coyle / Bob Cohen / Keith Freeman / Roy Ladkin Mark Coyle a Forever Bury stalwart that very sadly passed away following a short illness. He will be known to many fans for the generous help and support he gave to not just Forever Bury but Bury FC too. Having supported the Shakers since he was a lad one of the most memorable things he did, via his company MCA, was to sponsor the South Stand for a 2 year period and have it named as The Les Hart Stand in tribute of Less 44 year service at the club. Long term Bury fan, Bob Cohen, sadly passed away, at the age of 68. Bob was primarily involved with the Bury Football Club Supporters Society, and for a time held the position of Membership Secretary, and subsequently Chairperson, prior to the formation of Forever Bury. Some years ago, he was instrumental in establishing the 'Time for Change' appeal, a copper appeal, which is still functioning, and hence contributing to the Society's funds. We are also saddened to hear about the loss of Keith Freeman, former landlord of the Bury Fc Waterloo Pub on Manchester Road. Keith was instrumental in the start of Forever Bury in which meetings and bucket collections where held in the pub, he was also one of the most kind-hearted person you could ever meet. Also recently passing away is former FB Director Roy Ladkin, late husband of Margaret Ladkin who represented us on the main Bury FC board and he also put in countless hours at running the FB Car Boot Sales. Forever Bury Director John Raftery has recently started a WhatsApp group on his mobile phone. This is to give Bury FC match information to any Forever Bury members and Bury Supporters all around the world whilst also providing a bit of fun where everyone can have a bit of banter. If you know any Bury fan who is a FB member and may like to join this group could you please ask them then if they are happy to join we just need to know the following details. Name, Forever Bury Member, Mobile Phone number, WhatsApp on their phone. It is mainly for fun but is also a great way to involve exiles particularly on match days. Anyone interested please contact John: rafteryfamily@hotmail.com

Met the Board

After months of discussions and meetings with the Forever Bury Chairman, the Forever Bury Directors got to meet the clubs Chief Executive Glenn Thomas representing the new board. During the meeting on Thursday 24th October 2013 and most recently 8th January 2014, the board discussed several recent matters, and put across a number of questions that needed answers as well as putting over questions from fans. Glenn took the trouble to explain the proposed development plans but these will be kept under wraps until the clubs AGM when they will be put to the shareholders. The Forever Bury board stressed that they are keen to work with the new board and are waiting for clearance on the two most import matters the continuing investment for shares and also a representative on the Clubs board. Hopefully more information will be available for us and also all the fans in the upcoming months

Community Asset
We are pleased to announce that Forever Bury have managed to get the forms finally sorted to get Bury Football Club listed as a community asset. The club are happy to have a majority of the ground covered by the ACV (asset of community value) after months of form filling and emails we got the green light from the council. We have changed the ACV from the full ground to the majority of the ground as this may hinder the re-development of the ground. We also have in writing that the land will not be sold. Under the guidance of Supporters Direct, around a dozen of supporters trusts have already listed their grounds as an asset with most recent completions from Manchester United, Liverpool and Oxford United. www.foreverbury.org
