Go Slow: Mindful Yoga Practices!

for a Balanced Life

This two-hour workshop with experienced yoga teachers Sierra Weaver and Nicole Mark will explore the benets of some of the more contemplative, inwardly focused yoga practices including yin, restorative, mindfully paced ow, and meditation. We'll start our practice with a carefully prepared ow yoga sequence to warm the muscles, align the movement and breath, and strengthen the body. After this more yang phase of practice, we'll move into a series of yin (low-to-the-ground poses held for several minutes with support of props) and restorative (totally supported by props) yoga poses to bring our awareness inward, soften and gently stretch the connective tissues, and get more grounded. Finally, we'll explore some meditation techniques and pranayama (breathing exercises) to support a balanced practice and a balanced life. ! This workshop is appropriate for all levels of yoga practitioners, including beginners, and is a great opportunity to try yin, meditation, or restorative yoga if these are new to you or to bring some more mindful movement to your power ow or more rigorous ow practice.
