Yam Plant is a tuber plant. It has a food store for plants to survive and provide for the new plants until they are able to live on their own. However they need proper care as the food store grows upwards and not stretched out beneath the soil. In addition, whenever the offspring start to grow around the parent plant, the offspring will need to be moved to reduce competition for nutrients, water, sunlight and space. In average, yam plant will grow for about 6-10 months, dormant for 2-4 months, depending on its species. Stage 2 Stage 1 Offspring Parent Plant
