Little films with a big heart

The search is on across South-East Queensland for great short films about our wildlife and flora. Films that inspire, touch the spirit, make us wonder, laugh or shed a tear. Through these films we can help, and provide hope for, our unique, diverse fauna and flora.

Open to all students in Universities, TAFE Colleges, Primary and High Schools across the South-East Queensland region
Why the Cicada? World eminent ecologist E. O. Wilson said it is the small things that run the world. Cicadas are not only small, but noisy. Through them we hope to bring attention to our wildlife.

Criteria
Entries should be: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. a maximum of ten (10) minutes duration produced between 1st January 2012 and 30th September 2014 inclusive received by WPSQ Bayside Branch by 30th September 2014 produced and submitted by university, college, primary or high school students from South-East Queensland (SEQ) submitted on DVD/USB and remain the property of, and in the library of, Wildlife Queensland accompanied by: 6.1 6.2 a signed ENTRY FORM (provided) a written copy of the script with film credits

General Guidelines
The film: can describe some aspect of the life of a single species (plant or animal) or a particular habitat such as a wetland or forest within SEQ including islands can highlight particular conservation issues in SEQ and islands, and suggest effective solutions can be of any style or combination of styles i.e. news item, science segment or documentary; and use video imagery and / or animation should be based on facts (science) and at the same time be entertaining.
