After-school Knitting Club Open to 2nd-5th graders


Join in on the fun, whether you would like to learn to knit or if you already know how. Bring the project you are working on or bring some knitting needles and yarn to learn. Science Comes Alive Part II


Wonder at the marvels of natural science as you explore how animals adapt to their environments. Explore chemistry as you figure out the difference between solutions and suspensions and experience the power of chemical reactions. Delve into the science of paleontology and learn about life long gone: the dinosaurs! The science continues at home with your own model dinosaur tooth, dynamic dish, super sorter and animal footprint. Hunter Safety
Hunter Safety is offered three times a year - Dave Hovel teaches a class in March and in September/October, while Mike Kosmalski teaches one in conjunction with sumer school. Daves classes fill months in advance, so register early by emailing him at hovel4@comcast.net or 715-262-3615. Registration for the summer school class is done through summer school registration.

Friday Family Fun Nights at St. Joes School


Family Fun Nights are a free event open to all Prescott families. They will be held one Friday a month from 6-8 pm in the St. Joseph School gym. Families are asked to bring in a food shelf item for the food pantry and a potluck snack item to share. Activities include crafts, bingo, board games, and miscellaneous gym activities. Family Fun Nights are a time for kids to just be kids and play. They also serve as a time for parents to connect with one another and build community. Parents are expected to stay, and play, supervising their own children and playing along with them. Join the fun: Jan. 17; March 21; April 11. Master Naturalist Explorers For 3rd & 4th Graders


Join the Explorers! Fun, outdoor, sciencebased educational opportunities for 3rd & 4th grade students to learn about the ecology and natural history of their schoolyard, neighborhood, nearby natural areas, and the entire state. Lessons will focus on the physical changes in the Winter season and the connection to plants and animals. Kids will have some fun projects to take home! Dress appropriately for the weather each session as there will be some time outdoors exploring nature. A pilot program by the Minnesota Master Naturalist Program. LEGO X: ENGINETICS Challenge For 1st-5th Graders


Build a unique racer, a winch and ramp system and balance beam. Then use what youve learned to design and build your own catapult, merry-go-round and more. Students will build multiple projects, connect them to an engine and use their projects to investigate basic engineering concepts. Traditional Tae Kwon Do


The Korean style martial art stresses using feet and hands as a means of self-defense. Since aggressive behavior is downplayed, there is little or no contact. Girls on the Run For Girls in Grades 3-5


Girls on the run is a nonprofit organization that instills confidence, leadership, and social skills in girls through leading an active and healthy lifestyle. LEGO X: BATS and TOWERS For 1st-5th Graders


All new projects and challenges. Build a watch tower and a suspension bridge. Use them to investigate basic structural engineering concepts. Then move on to a motorized bat and a motorized winch system. Well wrap up the session with LEGO Building Challenges that will challenge every students LEGO building knowledge and skill. After-school Rocket Club For Grades 3-5 (Girls & Boys Welcome!)
In this after-school rocket club, kids will learn about rockets. Aside from seeing various rockets and learning how and why they fly, kids will also build their very own model rocket. As part of the class, each student will be responsible for purchasing a model (approx. $15-$20) from the instructor - once we finalize the number of kids in the class, we will be able to let you know the exact cost of the rockets. Please pack a substantial snack for your kiddo...they are guaranteed to be starving before 5:15pm! Note registration deadline is (one week prior to class). Girls on Track For Girls in Grades 6-8


Today's middle-school girls face many challenges and obstacles that can affect their emotional and physical well-being. The Girls on Track curriculum is designed to address these challenges by empowering them to make thoughtful and healthy decisions. Like Girls on the Run, the Girls on Track curriculum is delivered over the course of 10 to 12 weeks and addresses the societal, mental and emotional challenges particular to their age. Girls will learn about social media, eating disorders, substance abuse, relationships, and more. Fun Pillows For 4th-8th Graders


This class will make a variety of pillows. The first will be a personalized pillow case. With fabric of your choice, use an embroidery machine to add your name and an image to create a unique pillowcase. There will be a variety of other pillows to choose from for the next pillows. Supplies will be provided for these pillows. All levels of sewing experience welcome. Materials: One yard fabric with 1/4 yard contrasting fabric for trim for pillow case. Class is held at the Middle School - Malone students can ride a bus to the middle school for class - denote on registration if your child will be bussed to the M.S. from Malone. Little Kids T-ball Ages 3yrs - Kindergarten


T-Ball is a great way to introduce young players to the sport of baseball/softball. Players will develop their skills while focusing on the basic fundamentals of throwing, fielding and hitting. Dance/Tumble Combo Class For 4-10 year olds

Early Release Day Trips For K-5th graders


Fri, Feb 21 - SkyZone, Woodbury Fri., March 14 - Tentatively Edinborough Park, Edina Fri, May 2 - Bike Rodeo at Malone Community Ed organizes trips for most of the Early Release Days for kids in grades K-5. Busses leave directly from Malone after-school on those days. More information and registration forms will be available closer to each trip date.

Red Cross Babysitting Certification Clinic For Ages 11-15


Gain the skills and confidence to be a great babysitter. The class covers knowledge about infants, toddlers and school age children. Learn how to feed, diaper, and burp a baby, and games to play with older kids. Find out what information you need from parents before they leave. Basic first aid skills are covered as well as safety and injury prevention. Certificate issued upon successful class completion. Participants need to bring a sack lunch. Prescott Youth Skate Program


Children will be coached basic skills of skating and ice hockey. Beginner Skate on Saturday mornings from 9:45-10:30. (Cost $15) Saturday mornings will also include Fun Skate from 10:30-11:30 for all skill levels. Skaters will play a variety of games to help develop skills. Half rink will be fun skating games and half rink will be hockey clinic. Fun Skate for Figure Skaters and Hockey Players on Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 6:15-7:30. Skaters will have fun playing games for the first 45 minutes and end with open skate and a hockey scrimmage at each end of the rink. (Cost $25) All programs are for ages 4 through 7th grade. The programs will start Sat, January 11 and go to mid March (weather permitting). Children will be required to provide their own helmet and skates.
