'on'ealed and no! revealed by t$e movement o t$e $a7eD't$at is t$e reed 'urtain !$i'$ $angs be ore t$e mout$ o t$e 'ave o Master Hakuyu'% At on'e & tu'ked in my 'lot$es and began to 'limb) no! over stee# ro'ks) no! #us$ing t$roug$ mountain grasses8 my sandals soaked !it$ sno! arid i'e !ere ree7ing) and my 'lot$es !et t$roug$ !it$ mist and de!% As & toiled on t$e s!eat #oured do!n) but gradually & 'ame u# to t$e #la'e o t$e reed 'urtain%

& no! stood at t$e entran'e o t$e 'ave% &t 'ommanded a #ros#e't o unsur#assed beauty) 'om#letely above t$e vulgar dust o t$e !orld% My $eart trembling !it$ ear) my skin #ri'kling !it$ goose les$) & leaned against some ro'ks or a !$ile and 'ounted out several $undred breat$s%

T$e e".uisite #urity o t$e lands'a#e made me eel & $ad le t t$e !orld o men) A dread s$ook my $eart and soul) and & !as s$ivering as i stri##ed naked% & seated mysel on a ro'k or a !$ile and 'ounted my breat$ u# to some $undreds%
