Abstract Dementia is a cognitive disease that affects millions of people worldwide. It is a growing cognitive disease that can have devastating side effects. One of the side effects, besides cognitive decline, is aggressive behaviors. There are a number of pharmacological medications that have been prescribed to treat aggressive behaviors, but there are also non pharmacological approaches to dealing with aggressive behaviors. One of the approaches to controlling aggressive behavior in dementia patients is the use of music therapy. In order to make music therapy a more acceptable use of effective medication, more research must be conducted. Music therapy can also be a way of validation. Applying musical knowledge and medical knowledge can be a breakthrough for aggressive behaviors in dementia patients.
