PERSONS AND FAMILY RELATIONS 4 Units A basic course on the law of persons and family relations as contained in the Preliminary and Human Relations Chapter of the Civil Code of the Philippines, the Family Code, the Local Adoption Code and the Inter-Country Adoption Act !he sub"ect covers the laws on marria#e, property relations between spouses, paternity and filiation, support and emancipation, includin# the rules on funerals, surnames, absences and the Civil re#istry CONSTITUTIONAL LAW 1 3 Units A comprehensive survey and evaluation of basic principles contained in the Philippine Constitution dealin# with the structure of the Philippines $overnment, includin# amendments to and provisions of the Constitution CRIMINAL LAW 1 4 Units A course that deals with the study of the characteristics of criminal law, the nature and classification of felonies, their sta#es of e%ecution, circumstances affectin# criminal liability, persons criminally liable, e%tinction of criminal liability and the civil liability of the offender !he course covers &oo' (ne of the Revised Penal Code and pertinent laws STATUTORY CONSTRUCTION 2 Units A course that e%plores the method of construction and interpretation of statutes as well as the si#nificance of statutes for effective #overnance LE AL RESEARC! 2 Units !his course is an introduction to the methodolo#y of le#al research It includes actual case di#ests and preparation of le#al opinions and memoranda LE AL ET!ICS 1 2 Units A course that focuses on the core principles and canons of le#al ethics involvin# the duties and responsibilities of lawyers with respect to the client, the court, the bar and the public SSC"R SEMINAR 1 1 Unit A study of the history of the (rder of the Au#ustinian Recollects and the aim of the (rder as an educational institutions) the philosophical teachin#s of *aint Au#ustine and other Church Philosophers, and) the teachin#s of the Catholic Church on contemporary moral and social issues
