The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza) is an adaptation of the classic story, The Little Red Hen. In this new story, Hen wants to eat some pizza, so she attempts to get duck, dog and cat to help her gather the items and bake the pizza. However, the other animals are lazy and do not want to help Hen. So Hen tirelessly works to get her pizza made. When the pizza is done, she then asks the other animals if they would like some, and, of course, they all want to eat the pizza. Unlike the original story, Hen shares the pizza with the other animals and they, in return, clean up the kitchen for Hen.
This book is predictable because of the repeated storyline. Each turn of the page is Hen asking the animals for help, and the animals always say, Not I. In the end, Hen shares her pizza and when the animals are asked to help clean, they reply, I will. Lets Make a Pizza is a nonfiction story showing the required steps to making a pizza in simple terms. The story shows a family demonstrating the steps to making pizza.
