Abstract: An experimental study was conducted to calculate the heat transfer coefficient of water vapor in a double helical tube evaporator. The steam flow is through fluid the inner tube and in the annular section is against current flowing cooling water. The operating pressure of the condenser is in the range of 9 to 11 kPa with a Reynolds number of between 7200 and 23200 steam. The mass flow per unit area of the cooling water is 433 . The heat transfer coefficient is calculated by two ways: the first is based on energy y balance and heat transfer equations, and the second is the technique used Wilson Plot. Calculated values of heat transfer coefficient of condensation show similarity between both methods. The range of the coefficients is obtained condensation . Furthermore, we propose a correlation for condensation coefficient estimate based on the number of Re and Pr Keywords: heat transfer coefficient, steam, coiled condenser, Wilson Plot, heat transformer.
