    Abbevellian An industry of the Lower Palaeolithic culture named after the type site of Abbeville in North France.

    Acheulian An industry of the Lower Palaeolithic culture named after the type site at St Acheul in north France.

    Clacton-on Sea Name of a Lower Palaeolithic culture site in the old channel of the Thames, England.

    Cortex The original pebble surface (present on the pebble tool).
