II. Review of Literature and Conceptual Framework A. Review of Literature 1.
What information about the topic/problem are available in reference materials? One is the meaning of acid rain, acid, plants etc. There are effects of acid rains on different things. There was also some experiments done by people. 2. What findings from earlier researches are relevant to the topic or problem? One is how acid rains affect plants. Another is how are acid rain formed. And lastly, how long does a plant die. B. Conceptual Framework 1. Can you describe how the key variables in the study are related? The key variables used are the kind of water used. The kind of water used affects the growth of plant. It also affects the life of a plant. 2. Can you show that in a form of a diagram?
Kind of Water
Life of plant
Will it live or not
Characteristics of the plants
Growth of Plant
will it grow or not
C. Hypothesis 1. If acid rain was poured on plants, then the plant might not grow. 2. If water was poured on plants, then the plant will grow.
D. Definition of Terms 1. How should the technical terms in the study should be interpreted? Acid Rain acid precipitation in form of a rain Acid substance whose aqueous solutions are sour Rain water condensed from atmospheric vapor and falling in drops Fair Test one variable is changed Variables objects used in an experiment Controlled Variables factors that remains the same Dependent Variables factor that is affected by the changes Independent Variables factor that is change; being tested Lemon Juice squeezed lemon mixed with water Plants living organism of the kind exemplified by trees, shrubs, herbs, etc. Soil top layer of the earth where plants grow Pot container that holds the soil Sunlight light from the sun Sun star around which the earth orbits Botany scientific study of plants Botanist scientist who studies plants
