Example of simple report

First I will tell you some small things how a report should be written, even if its a simpler report. For a complete example of a technical report go to the following link: http://www.miun.se/upload/ !"#/$emplate$echnical%eports&I'(.doc or )wedish version: http://www.miun.se/upload/ !"#/&all$ekniska%apporter&I'(.doc $hese two reports are very good, because they also explain what should be in each chapter. In a simpler report the *ayout is pretty free but there are certain things that one should follow even in a simpler report. )uch as+ )tate the main heading, sub, heading and authors name on the front page -the title page. of the report. /ourse name and e,mail addresses can also be good o have, preferable in the heading -no heading on the front page.. $hen the names will follow the whole document. $he text should be written so that it is readily understandable to another student with similar background. $he report should be typed using a word processor and the language should be grammatically correct. $he first time an abbreviation -abbr.. is used it is typed within the parenthesis after its explanation, as illustrated in this sentence. 0ll illustration -pictures, characters, diagrams, tables. in the report should be numbered and accompanied by a short text description. In addition to the text the illustration source reference should be stated, if it is not your own. 1xample:

Figure 1. In ports and out ports on a UART

0ll illustrations should be linked to the report via a reference in the continuous text. 1xamples: 2the '0%$ system is illustrated by the block schedule in Figure 34 &athematical formulas should be centred, or alternatively indented by approximately a centimetre. $hey should be numbered, and the number placed to the right.

1xplain the notation of the formula, ex. / is speed of light in vacuum. In the word processing program &icrosoft 7ord, inserts of e8uations can be formulated by choosing Insert ,9 :b;ect, and then 18uation 1ditor. 0ll sources that are used in the source list should be linked to the report through reference in the continuous text, according to the Vancouver-system, which commonly occurs in reports regarding technical matters. If you follow these small things even in a simpler report, you will have a lot easier to write a full report later. <ecause then you know from the beginning how to do it right, and dont have to go back and correct everything later.

1 Introduction
$his is a small very simple template report. I will show a minimum on how it should look. 0s this is only an example report, the report it self has no meaning. 0nd one can not understand everything, because examples are taken from different reports that had nothing to do with each other. In the introduction, if one will have that in the simple report. :ne can write about the meaning of the laboratory or why this report is written. 7hat is the goal, why do I do this etc.

First question

If the report is for a laboratory -lab.. :ne can follow the 8uestions from top to down. ?referably with the same numbering. If there are no numbering in the lab, compendium, one must think one more time on how to write the report. )o that it becomes easiest for you and the tutor that are to correct the report, its important so that there will not be any misunderstandings. <e sure to answer all the 8uestions.

3 Second question
7ith ohms law -3. I can derive the power ? to two different formulas.
P = UI = U5 = I 5R R

-5.

7here ? C ?ower, ' C Doltage, % C %esistance, I C /urrent.

4 T ird question
)ome examples of figures, graphs, pictures and sub titles.

Bis task was to se if it is possible to determine how full the diaper is, by using optical electronics. $his is done with E light diodes -white. and optical sensors -sensor :?$3@3?.. $hey are placed in the diaper as in fig 3. 3 A cm *ight diods E

:ptical sensors

Figure 2. Schematic overvie of !eds and "ptical sensors in a diaper

$heory behind this is if the diaper is full all the sensors should give approximately the same high value. 0nd in between sensor values should differ from each other. 0 dry diaper should have low values on all sensors.
