The camera moves into the sky, further away from earth. The stars are sliding by and suddenly, they are in 3D. The opening titles appear while we slide through space in the speed of light. LITTLE GIRL (0.8.) Are you leaving us, Mommy? The stars fade into the hands of little Amanda. INT. BEDROOM The girl wears a blindfold and touches herself along the wall. She takes the blindfold off. She watches her mother packing a small grey suitcase. Ripley turns around and looks at her daughter. She smiles tenderly, but there's a feeling of sadness. The camera moves towards Amanda, into the darkness of her eyes that fades into a distant galaxy. AMANDA (0.S.) can I come with you? Endless and silent. Stars are sliding by. EXT. SILENT SPACE Slowly some hieroglyphs appear on the screen until they form the title: ALIEN PLANET A spot appears in the middle of the screen. It gets closer and closer. It's a planet. It is dark and shimmers violet. Tense, alarming music. In front of the planet appears another tiny spot. It's a spaceship. The USS VASSUS.The Vassus is globular. More details appear. The spaceship consists of several moving parte. The center spins around itself. INT. VASSUS Dark Corridors. Lights go on. Things still float in the air for a few seconds. Then gravity starts working. A huge dining hall. some hatches are lit up, From the inside the spaceship looks old and used, yet cozy and comfortable. INT. HYPER SLEEP HALL In the huge hall are up to 80 cryonic caskets. The room looks like an ancient mysterious burial chamber. The light goes on, but stays dim to not shock the people. The coffins open one after another. People are getting up slowly. They need their time. Climb down hand over hand. Men, women, children. Some of the kids cling to their parents half asleep. The whole wake-up ritual is very meditative. They recognize their friends. Give them a wink. Do some small talk. Take their time. It is very silent. So silent that two of them, GILBERT (20), a young member with disturbingly bright eyes, and BERNARDT (42), a charismatic, yet a bit worn-out man, can talk lowly over a few meter distance. GILBERT (half asleep) Hey, what was the punch line? Bernardt doesn't have a clue what Gilbert wants. Then he remembers and laughs. He crosses his eyes. BERNARD? Well, the woman just says: Uhhps. Gilbert is a bit disappointed about the joke. He smiles. BERNARD? (laughs) That one’s still fucking great. Gilbert gets up and punches him on the shoulder as he crosses Bernardt.
