It is thought Peru has not had a reputation about their music inventions.

Except for the band Los Saicos which in recent years began to be recognized in the U.S. and Europe for his contribution to the punk music during the 60s. Nowadays, in the same way that gastronomy, Peruvian music is getting international recognition. In recent years, some national groups have been highlighted and described as "hidden gems of Peru." I'll just mention some of these groups. Kanaku & El Tigre, a folk band, which is very recognized in Mexico. The indie rock is represented by the band Autobus, I have heard and I think it is a great band. Bareto, an alternative group of tropical Peruvian music, It is a well-known group in our city. They have also played in Brazil, japan, usa. Dengue Dengue Dengue! is a Tropical Bass duo from Lima. Their songs fuse Cumbia, dub and Techno. I really enjoy listening their music.
