Caroline Rudolphine Bohn (nee Unterberg) was widowed in 1835 Hanover, Germany. She was left with the care of five
daughters and one son between the ages of three and sixteen. In 1840 her 20 year old daughter Henriette Georgina also passed
away. Caroline had a son with much younger Heinrich Nagel in 1837 and they married three years later on 3rd May 1840 at
Paul-Gerhardt Church, Lauthenthal. Heinrich and Caroline immigrated to Australia in 1846 on the ship Heerjeebhoy Rustomjee
Patel with their son Wilhelm Friedrich Christian Nagel, aged 9, and Carolines remaining children, Heinrich Christian Bohn
aged 13, Christiane Caroline Juliane Bohn aged 15, and Caroline Wilhelmine Bohn aged 20.
Heinrich Nagels youngest brother Christian Ernst Louis Nagel married Carolines eldest daughter Caroline Augustina Bohn

on 9 February 1845 in Lauthenthal and had two sons, Ernest Heinrich August (Henry Charles) in 1844 and Friedrich in 1847.
The family emigrated to Australia on George Washington in 1848 with Carolines younger sister Johanne Henriette Augustine
Bohn b1823. They were among the first group of emigrants to be assisted by a new Government scheme. After fourteen days at sea
an outbreak of Cholera claimed their youngest son Friedrich, he died on 8th November 1848 aged 14 months. Ernst and
Augustina were to have a further seven children born in Australia
