Waiting

By Caroline p. 9:15 p.m. My stomach grumbled as I walked up the steps to Johnny Rockets. Im starving, I moaned. What time is it? I had been at Cedar Point all day. If you didnt know, Cedar Point is the best roller coaster park in the world. Lots of their rides are one of a kind. We spent the whole day riding on their new winged roller coaster. You dont know what that is do you? That is one of the benefits of going to Cedar Point instead of Six Flags or somewhere else. Its always so much fun! I go every summer with my best friend and her family. Its always one of the highlights of my trip to Ohio!!! Im even more starving. I ate lunch at 1:00 this afternoon. I havent ate for, hmm 8 hours! said my little brother Brendan, who was starting to get on my nerves. I ate at the same time as you, remember? I spat back, Urh!

9:30 pm We havent gone on the Millennium Force! I exclaimed. Lets go! My sister Kate, my best friend Camille, her sister Caroline M., their brother Max, and I (my name is Caroline in case you want to know) all sprinted to the Millennium Force. This is my favorite roller coaster, so I was exited. We quickly ran into the line, the sign said 1 hour. We are going to be hungry. I mean, we skipped dinner for this. I said, my stomach felt like there was an earthquake in it. I was so hungry that I felt like I was going to faint. Think of something else, I thought. Come on Caroline, you cant be that hungry, Kate said sounding very annoyed, The sign clearly stated that it would only take an hour to get on the ride. Stop it! Kate and I turned around quickly turned around to see Max poking Caroline. We all started poking him back laughing happily. 9:45 Caroline, see, it wont take an hour, weve been in line for 15 minutes and were halfway way through the line, Kate said smiling happily.

I was super exited that we were almost to the front of the line, this was my favorite ride and it was starting to get late. If we could get through the ride in 15 minutes or less we could probably ride one more ride after this. I already was thinking of what the other ride would be. The Blue Streak, definitely. I was satisfied with this idea. I was about to share my idea with the others when Camille said, The line hasnt been moving at all. I wonder why? 10:00 We were all still thinking about what Camille had said when BAM!!! It sounded like someone shot a gun. A small explosion happened. The sky lit up. BOOM!!! This time someone screamed you guessed it, it was fireworks! Ohh That must be why the line wasnt moving, they had to close the ride for a few minutes because of the fireworks! 10:15 The line still hadnt moved. This was beginning to become a problem, Guys, we should get out of line. Weve been waiting for almost an hour, Kate said. This shocked me, Kate was the one who insisted on going on the ride. She was the one who said it would only take an

hour. I felt like screaming at her. We arent getting out of line no matter what. So what? I said, I want to go on the ride. It hasnt even been an hour yet, we should wait a little bit until we give up. I mean, we should wait at least 45 more minutes. I was super surprised by the words that came out of my mouth. I was the one who didnt want to go in the first place. I guess I wanted to go from the beginning. 10:45 Max had already called his mom and things were starting to become disastrous. We were fighting the whole time about if we should forfeit our spot in line or if we should just wait. Finally, Mrs. Marinac (Camille, Max and Carolines mom) called back. She had asked the man in control and he said the ride was broken down, but they would fix it. She said hang tight for a little while. Oh no. This wont turn out well, I thought. 11:00 The line had quickly started to move and we were on the ride in no time at all. I suddenly got scared; Ive never seen the Millennium Force break down. This was unusual. I started to sweat, I always get scared before rollercoasters, but Ive never been this scared. In my

mind, I was thinking about the things that could happen, but I finally just got on the ride. My heart pounded as the roller coaster went up the hill. It went slowly. Up, up, up! I slowly opened my eyes and peered over Camille to the magnificent view of Lake Erie. The lake shimmered in the darkness. Tiny waves rippled against the small boats that were sailing. The lake was as dark as the middle of the night. Now that I think about it, it was the middle of the night. I was stunned by the very beautiful view. It looked like a movie. Wait we have to do our cheer! Were already halfway up the hill. We dont have much time. I said to Kate, Caroline and Camille. Millennium Force! Millennium Force! Millennium Force! We were already at the top of the hill. I looked over the people in front of us over what looked like a cliff. My heart beat faster and faster. I screamed. We plunged down the 312 feet hill. Whoosh! We went around a bend. Under the dark tunnel. Snap! The camera that flashed blinded my eyes. I giggled then cracked up. This was so much fun! Shortly after the ride was over, we went to T.G.I. Fridays and ate dinner.

Afterwards I wrote this story because one of the most important things to remember is that you have to be patient always. The best things always happen to those who are patient and wait for things to happen, not the people who just get up and run away after 5 minutes. Also because I will always remember this moment. (Partly because at T.G.I. Fridays we saw a giant gorilla!) Going to Cedar Point is one of favorite times of the year because I always have so much fun!
