. Many astrologers of south india, they never even refer navamsa charts. Rasi chakra is a window only. For detailed studies of various aspects like, health, education, profession, longevity, life partner etc. We have to refer the divisional charts for more details. Navamsa is very important for many matters especially marriage. From the navamsa chart we can assess the strength of the planets and houses for marriage. For example if the VII lord is debilitated (neecha) in rasi, if it is in the uchcha sthana (exaltation) in navamsa, the VII house is strong and not blemished. Also even if there is no rasyadhipathi matching in rasi charts, if there is matching in navamsa charts, then we can take it for granted that there is rasyathipathi matching, which again compensates the mismatch in dwidwadasa, navapanchama, rajju, gana and stree deerga. So the most important, being, nakshathra and rasyadhipathi (either in rasi or navams). The second point is, we have see the papa samyams. In practice, is considered only for chevvai (mars/ankaragan). Also the papa samyam for Sani, Sooryan and Rahu need to considered. Again while assessing the papa samyams, actually, the placement of Rahu, Sun, Sani and Chevvai from Lagna, Chandra and Sukra in 1/2/7/8/12th places to be considered. Avasthas of the above planets are to be taken into account before arriving at the dosha points. Shri Natarjan, a scholar in astrology suggests that dosha point from Lagna is 100%, 50% from Chandra and 25% from Sukra. The dosha points of the girl should be less than that of the boy on the same parameters. Also the boy dosha point should not be more than twice that of the girl. Shri Natarajan says that more dosha of the girl will definitely culminate intodivorce. In Krishnamoorthy Padhdhathi, it is suggested that the seventh lords in the horoscope of boy/girl should not occupy 6 or 12th place in the horoscope of girl/boy. Seventh lord of boy should not be in 6th or 12th in the girls horoscope and vice-versa is also true. Also the the 7th lord should have connection with Lagna of the other. It is an indicator. In the above points, many are not at all considered by astrologers now a days and we see lot of separation and divorce in these days.
