Each student will need the following:
1 card from a pre-cut set of Topic Cards (pages 85 to 95)
1 pencil
paper or writing journal
Directions
Have each student do the following:
1. Choose a topic card that interests him or her. (Example: baseball)
2. Write a story about the object on the card. (Example: I play baseball with my
friends. We like to hit the ball.)
Helpful Hints
These cards work great when students cannot think of anything to write about.
Cut and laminate the cards for durability.
Locate in an easily accessible area for students to use at any time.
