Sipura back-to-back Config This will allow the FXO connection of an SPA3000 to be accessed from another SPA unit

connected to a network somewhere. Incoming calls on the SPA3000 FXO will be forwarded to the other Si ura unit !called the "remote SPA# in this e$am le%. &o registrations will be used' the communications will be done using IP addresses. (hen someone icks u the hone on the remote SPA' it will automaticall) connect to the FXO ort on the 3000 to allow users to make normal PST& calls. In this e$am le the IP Address of the SPA3000 is *+.+*,.,3.-0 . the IP Address of the remote SPA is *+.+*,.,3.-,. These will ob/iousl) ha/e to be re laced for )our own IP addresses when setting u . It would also be ad/isable to use static addresses on both the Si uras. How To Setup: In the web interface for the remote SPA in the tab for "line +#' "0XT+# or whiche/er line )ou want to use. Alter the following settings1

"2ake 3all (ithout 4eg# to ")es#. This allows calls to be made without being registered to a SIP registrar. "Ans 3all (ithout 4eg# to ")es#. This allows calls to be recei/ed without being registered. "0nable IP 5ialing# to ")es#. This enables the SPA to dial using IP addresses rather than SIP 64Is which is ideall) what should be used. 3hange the dial lan to read "!S071*+.+*,.,3.-08%#. This sets u what is called a "hotline#. So when the hone is icked u ' it automaticall) dials the number !or IP address in this case% without the user doing an)thing.

In the web interface for the SPA3000' in the tab for "PST& 9ine#. Alter the following settings1

"2ake 3all (ithout 4eg# to ")es#. "Ans 3all (ithout 4eg# to ")es#. 3hange dial lan - to read "!S071*+.+*,.,3.-,8%#. This sets u a hotline which calls the remote SPA using it:s IP address. It:s wise to lea/e use dial lan - !or an) number after that% . not dial lan + since most of the default settings on this age are set to use dial lan +. "PST& 4ing Thru 9ine +# if )ou ha/e a hone connected to the 3000 . want it to ring when a call is recei/ed /ia the PST&' lea/e this as ")es#. If )ou onl) want the hone on connected to the remote SPA to ring' set this to "no#. "PST& 3aller 5efault 5P " to "-#. This should match whiche/er dial lan )ou setu two ste s ago. Again' tr) to a/oid changing dial lan + in this case. "PST& Answer 5ela) " change this to ;ero. Otherwise an) incoming calls will not be forwarded to the remote SPA for +< seconds !as the default /alue here is +<%.

In the "line +# tab' change the following settings1

#make 3all (ithout 4eg# to ")es#. #Ans 3all (ithout 4eg# to ")es#.

&ow in the "6ser +# tab alter the following setting1

"3fwd All 5est# to "gw0#. This forwards an) incoming calls on the =oIP line to gatewa)> 0 which is the FXO connected to the PST&. &ow when the remote SPA calls the IP address of this 3000' it is automaticall) forwarded to the PST& . the user of the remote hears the PST& dialtone.

Security: (hat has been done so far will work but so far an)one could t) e the IP address of the SPA3000 into an IP hone . make calls through )our PST&? Alter these settings in the "PST& 9ine# tab of the SPA30001

"=oIP 3aller Auth 2ethod# change to "PI&#. This means that an)one accessing )our PST& line will be confronted b) a set of bee s indicating that the) should enter a PI& number. Failure to do so means the) cannot access )our PST& line. "=oIP Access 9ist# add the IP address of )our remote SPA into here1 *+.+*,.,3.-, in this case. This allows )our remote SPA to b) ass the PI& number authorisation. "=oIP 3aller + PI&# change this to an) PI& number )ou want. This is what eo le will ha/e to enter in to access the PST&.

(hilst sto ing un>authorised uses accessing )our PST& line this also means )ou can call )our SPA3000:s IP address from an) IP hone . make calls using )our own PST& once )ou:/e entered )our PI& number in?
