ThispoemistalkingabouttherelationbetweenGodandJesus. GodiswhotalkingandtellingtousaboutJesusbutinthepoemtalkingtoJesus. IthinkthenarrationunderstandtherelationthatGodhaswithJesusbecause realistic,theyknowit,butwelikehumansneedrevelationtounderstand,sothatis whatBlakeistryingtogetacross.Soreally,itisaconversationbetweenGodand JesussothatwecanviewitandunderstandalittlemoreaboutJesusandwhoheis andhowhebecamewhohewasinthelife.Thefirsthalfofthetwostanzapoem hasthespeakeraskthelambwhoisresponsibleforlifeandcreationofthissweet creaturewiththesoftclothingofdelight.Thelambfunctionsislikeasymbolforthe connectionbetweenhumanityandthenaturalworld.Thelambisalsoasymbolof pastoral,betweentheworldofhumanityandthenaturalworldofGod creation.Pastorallifealsotakesacentralpositioninthepoem.Theseimagesoflife outsideofcitiesfirmlyestablishesasenseofpeaceandtranquilitywithinthese poems,includingtheTheLamb.Thisconnectsthefiguresofthepoemtothe naturalworld,wherethefiguresofthepoemcanseetheirexistencewithoutthe interferenceofcompletelyhumanelements.Blake'sgentlelendsarelax,spiritual moodtothepiece,whichanswersthequestioninfirstpersonnarrativeinthe secondstanzathatahigherpowerisresponsible.Butthispoemrepresentdifferent kindthemeanbecausethelambcanrepresentalotthinkandthesecondvoicetoo.
