Prince of Wales Public School, Peterborough, Ontario

Developed and implemented interesting and engaging daily lessons and unit plans for grades 5 and 6, made daily observations
and various assessments and evaluations to best suit the group of learners in the classroom. Worked in small groups and one-
on-one with students to meet the needs of IEPs and other needs in the learning environment, in various subjects with a focus on
math, reading and writing. Created and fostered a positive classroom environment, creating a safe environment for learning
and risk taking, promoting excellent student engagement. Communicated and collaborated regularly with administration,
department teachers, parents/guardians to ensure all needs were met, and learning was fun and always and on-going venture!
Organized and implemented a fun extra-curricular mixed junior volleyball program, holding tryouts, practices and attending a
local tournament.

Shadowed a well-established francophone teacher. Was involved in the planning and implementation of a final summative
assessment for a new grade 9 FI family studies class. Acted as the advisor for the student government, offering advice and
guidance through the election and formal dance planning process. Worked along side the teacher advisor and student leaders
to successfully organize all activities and details of a 4-day student-led leadership camp.
English/Social Studies/Learning Centre, Teacher Candidate (15 days)

Observed and shadowed a number of educators teaching within and outside of my subject areas including, English, Social
Studies, Home Economics and Japanese. Co-planned, team-taught and assessed with both the English and Social Studies
teachers. Experienced the Victorian Essentials Learning Standards model. Designed, assessed and evaluated new language
learners through an extra-curricular French program.

under the Common European Framework for learning languages. Worked one-on-one with non-linguistic learners, to help
