Heidi Hoefer HR Representative (217) 451-6590 05/31/2013 iJAG Program Des Moines, IA Dear Sarah, Across the country,

Archer Daniels Midland is establishing a new program fittingly titled, LINC. LINC stands for Learn, Innovate, Network, and Cultivate. The goal of the program is to establish partnerships with local educators to create a connection for students from high-school graduation to a career at ADM. The opportunity to cultivate new connections has come at no greater time. The area of skilled trades continues to suffer, especially, from factors such as a one in four on-time graduation rate, the rise in retirement eligibility of baby boomers, and the lack of knowledge around what sort of career options are available for new graduates entering the field. This is where we need your help. Your local ADM operations facility will host the LINC program between the months of July and August. This one week program will allow local educators to participate in a job shadowing experience of several areas within ADMs facility that would benefit most from teachers being able to bring new knowledge and practical applications to the classroom. We ask for your help in recommending motivated, proven educators in the subject areas closely related to the field of skilled trades and/or guidance counselors. We have worked closely with JAG programs in the past and would like to continue that partnership, if possible, within your district or school. Teachers will be compensated as part of the program, because we do acknowledge and understand that this is a week-long commitment out of the busy summer schedule. More details of the program will be provided to recommended teachers as the recruitment process progresses. We know this is the first step in cultivating a long, successful partnership with our community and the educators who help to produce our next great wave of talent. Best Regards, Heidi Hoefer
