The improved multi function module for the Mercedes-Benz Series 500 engines has an added special bonus! The new, integrated oil centrifuge allows for even longer service intervals for the ACTROS. The available installation space was optimally utilized for the main function 'oil filtration' regarding the filter surface area and the rotor volume. In order for the centrifuge to activate only when sufficient oil pressure is established, the minimum pressure valve was placed in a space saving way in the axis of the centrifuge. The unpressurized oil return from the centrifuge into the crankcase can only be ensured with large oil line cross-sections. Through the strict utilization of the package space between the oil and fuel filter, these lines were integrated into the housing structure. The optimized service concept without an additional service location allows for an easy and clean exchange of the centrifuge rotor and the filter element. This module technology allows for larger metal-free rotors if necessary.
